But stay for it. when you DO get the occasion to have one night down from those awful little people in your life, you ’re going to be enough agitated!! Just being suitable to finish a discussion with my Husband and just get only myself ready in the morning to go out is amazing!
So when Red Letter Days invited us to try out their Windsor Castle break away I could n’t stay! It came at perfect timing as well as it was Kevs birthday and after everything he’s done for me over the once time I suppose he merited a treat on his birthday.
Part of the Windsor Red Letter Days experience was one night at the Harte and Garter, a four star hostel deposited directly in the heart of Windsor and right in front of Windsor Caste. Windsor Castle is set right in the middle of Windsor city, a busy area with lots of installations around.
Harte and Garter Hotel
We could check in to the Harte and Garter from 3 pm and the check in process was veritably easy, staff were friendly and helpful. We were handed our crucial card and room number and were free to go to our room.
The Red Letter Days website says that you’ll be staying in one of their luxury guestrooms most with original features. I was veritably disappointed with the room. It was bitsy, ridiculously briskly when it was quite a chilly day, the windows were covered in film so you could n’t see out, the noise of the air exertion unit was horrible, the restroom was tatty and I could hardly get in there duly as it was so small. The filmland on the website weren’t anything like the room we had just walked into. I’m not someone who likes to complain, but I could n’t ignore this bone . The staff on event were veritably nice and understanding and snappily changed our room for us.

We were veritably happy with this room, much bigger with seating areas, a veritably large bed, wardrobe, dressing table and a beautiful restroom with a roll top bath.
We still did n’t have a room with a view which is similar a shame as the apartments with castle views are veritably beautiful with little deck’s too. We spotted some people looking out watching the changing of the guard on the Saturday morning. A great view!
We settled into our room and enjoyed the peace and quiet and watched a bit of television before getting ourselves ready to go out for regale.
Evening In Windsor
The hostel is positioned right in the heart of Windsor where you have a large selection of places to walk to and eat if you do n’t fancy eating at the hostel. From your usual chain caffs and cafés to further unique independent bones . We decided to visit Bills which we’ve noway tried ahead. The food was lovely, staff was friendly and it was so nice for us both to be suitable to have a blend together.
We decided to snare a Belgian Coffee back at the hostel whilst sitting at the window over looking Windsor Castle before heading back to our room for the night.
Breakfast
Included in your Red Letter Days experience is breakfast at the hostel too. It’s served until 11 am which is the same time you have to check out by.
To Windsor Castle
The Red Letter Days experience includes two tickets to Windsor Castle on the day after and as you can not situate your auto at the hostel we were suitable to leave our bags locked down at the hostel.
If you ’re visiting on a day when The Changing Of The Guard happens also make sure you ’re about for the right time! It also gets veritably busy around then too. It was passing at 11 am on the Saturday, so we headed out over the road to watch them walk through the city and into Windsor Castle.
If you ’re doing this as well be apprehensive that everyone seems to have the same idea as us! Everyone watched them walk in and also went straight into Windsor Castle. It was swamped with people and the line was massive. still as we hadpre-booked tickets with the experience we could skip all the ranges. You still need to go through security, it’s veritably much like the field with yourself and bags being scrutinized.
Once you ’re through if your quick you can still head through and watch the changing of the guard passing inside too.
